This is a fascinating and in-depth lecture on the five layers of the being, according to the yoga tradition. This knowledge can support yoga practitioners to understand both the extent to which, and how we can derive many benefits from yoga, and it’s relevant whether we want healing or transformational effects through the practice. We offer regular lectures on yogic principles to support our students, however they are open to anyone who would like to explore yogic philosophy. How Does Yoga Work? - The Essential Principles For A Successful Yoga Practice.
It's often the case that we go to a yoga class or two, and get the benefits of a workout, feeling fresh and relaxed at the end. Our bodies are stretched and we feel more supple. You might be surprised to know that there's much more to the yoga system than this. Chakras are sometimes mentioned in classes, and they're common in yoga books, but have you ever really considered them, been guided regarding them, or applied this knowledge while you're doing your yoga? How would that work, and most importantly, what would be the point?
There are some fundamental principles to the yoga system, which, when grasped, will take your yoga practice, and the benefits you receive, to a completely different level. James explains this clearly, and in a fun way, so that the magic and mystery of the yoga system can be clearly differentiated from other workouts, and you'll know how to grasp whatever it is you may wish to achieve from yoga.
